Dr. Mondia has clinical experience treating patients with a broad range of diagnosis, severity, acuity, and environment, both in the emergency room and outpatient settings.  He has well-rounded experience in psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions in a team-based care model. 

Dr. Mondia served as the Associate Director of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program at Jacobi Medical Center in New York, which is a trauma level 3 emergency room designation and is operated by NYC Health + Hospitals in affiliation with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  Dr. Mondia is also an attending emergency room psychiatrist at Montefiore Medical Center, the largest academic institution in the Bronx.  

Dr. Mondia completed his training in Psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.   He served in multiple educational leadership roles during his career, fulfilling the duties as Chief Resident in the Psychiatric Observation Suite.    Most notably, Dr. Mondia has received multiple awards for his dedication including “The Most Outstanding House Officer Award at Montefiore”, which is given to the top three residents in the Montefiore system, and the “Leo M. Davidoff Society Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Teaching of Medical Students”.   He currently is an affiliate Assistant Medical Professor CUNY School of Medicine and also a Clerkship Site Director of Psychiatry at Jacobi Medical Center for the CUNY School of Medicine.  

In addition to teaching and educational activities, he has a professional interest in acculturation related experiences for Asian-Americans.   He holds a Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.  Dr. Mondia is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc., a Member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties    In addition to adult psychiatry, he is board certified and also completed a fellowship in Consult Liaison Psychiatry, a sub-specialty that focuses on psychiatric presentations in medically ill patient populations, which he received at Montefiore Medical Center.
